Durak Hazelnut attended the Workshop on Artificial Intelligence and Technology Usage

Durak Hazelnut Sustainability Team participated in the workshop on determining the Road Map of Artificial Intelligence and Technology Use in Hazelnut Agriculture held in Giresun on 9-10 December 2024.

The opening speeches of the workshop were made by Eastern Black Sea Development Agency (DOKA) Secretary General Kemal Akpınar, National Hazelnut Council President Cem Şenocak, Giresun Commodity Exchange President Hamza Bölük, Bahçeşehir University Global Vice President Dr. Serdar Şenel, Food and Agriculture Organisation FAO Deputy Representative in Turkey Ayşe Selışık, Giresun University Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Şahin and Giresun Governor Mehmet Fatih Serdengeçti.

In the workshop, the applicability of modern agricultural technologies and artificial intelligence-based solutions in hazelnut production was discussed. Increasing productivity in the production of hazelnut, which is one of the important agricultural products of our country, developing sustainable methods and creating a production process integrated with technology, and discussing how to serve the education curriculum for this purpose were among the main objectives of the workshop.

During the two days of the workshop, sessions titled ‘Technology and Artificial Intelligence in World Agriculture’, ‘Soil, Plant Nutrition and Water’, ‘Cloud Architecture and Artificial Intelligence’, ‘Disease Pest Control and Hazelnut Recruitment Studies’, ‘Reducing Harvest, Post-Harvest and Processing Losses’, ‘The Role of Artificial Intelligence in Hazelnut Agriculture Education’ were organised.
